Michael Jon Carter, known as Booster Gold, is a DC Comics superhero. He first appeared in Booster Gold #1 (February 1986).

Born in 25th-century Gotham City, Carter was a talented athlete and football star whose career was derailed by gambling addiction. In an attempt to restore his reputation, he stole futuristic technology, including a power suit, force field belt, and a time machine. He then travelled to the 20th century, reinventing himself as the superhero Booster Gold, seeking fame and fortune.

Initially driven by self-interest, Booster Gold gradually evolves into a genuine hero. He often partners with Blue Beetle, forming a comedic and effective crime-fighting duo. Despite his flawed origins, Booster Gold strives to do good and protect the timeline, even becoming a member of the Justice League.
